Born and raised in Washington, D.C. and New Mexico, Merrill Hewitt (Dame Eiger) is an emerging artist currently based in Paris, where she is completing her BFA in Art, Media, and Technology at Parsons. Her work explores taboo, gender, and the politics of beauty through sculptural garments, material experimentation, and mythic symbolism. Drawing from classical references and personal rituals, she transforms unconventional materials — including snake sheds, leather, and mother-of-pearl — into visceral, often wearable pieces. Her practice embraces discomfort with a colorful, seductive aesthetic that disarms and provokes in equal measure.
